Cooked with LOVE, shared with PLEASURE...

Far Breton

Far Breton Recipe. (A far is a custardy pudding cake from the northwest of France (Bretagne), similar to a clafouti but with a dense, smooth, flan-like texture.)

Ingredients:

350g prunes, pitted...
5 eggs
100g sugar
100g flour
1 pinch of salt
500ml milk
2 tbsp brown rum
1 tsp vanilla extract

Method:

1) Preheat oven to 210°C. Grease 26cm diam. baking dish & dust with some sugar.
2) In a saucepan heat milk until warm, do not bring to boil.
3) Whisk eggs with sugar & salt, gradually add flour, vanilla extract, rum & finally pour in warm milk.
4) Bake at 210°C for 10min, then for 35-45 min at 170°C.
5) Let it cool down, dust with icing sugar, serve while it's still warm.
